1. Marinate the Chicken:
   - In a bowl, mix the chicken pieces with yogurt, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt.
   - Cover and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.

2. Prepare the Masala:
   - Heat oil in a large pan over medium heat.
   - Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
   - Add finely chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
   - Add ginger-garlic paste and green chilies, and sauté for a few minutes until the raw smell goes away.
   - Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they turn soft and oil starts to separate from the mixture.

3. Cook the Chicken:
   - Add the marinated chicken pieces to the pan.
   - Cook on medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the chicken is browned on all sides.
   - Add coriander powder and mix well.

4. Simmer and Finish:
   - Add a little water if needed to prevent sticking and to make a thick gravy.
   - Cover and let the chicken cook on low heat until it is fully cooked and tender.
   - Sprinkle garam masala over the chicken and mix well.
   - Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.

5. Serve:
   - Serve hot with rice, naan, or roti
